I am not asking about the use of animals that are raised in fur farms, such as mink, etc. but more common types of leather, such as sheepskin, cattle, rabbit etc. where the components of the animal can be used for other uses. e.g. you don't kill a cow just for skin and waste all that good meat. this is for personal interest. Will seat covers slow down leather seat deterioration? My 3 year old car is starting to have some definite (moderate) wrinkling of the seat side bolster (left side) and very minimal stretching of the seat bottom leather (has 2 dimples, one for each buttocks half). Which boots should I get for my horse? I need a new set of boots for my horse. I do mostly hunter and equitation, ranging from flat to about 2"6" or 3'. I've been looking around, and I've been having trouble finding a set that fits my budget but that I would trust to be high quality. I know you get what you pay for, but I would like to spend not much more than $125 or so on a full set of four. I'm fully aware that this may not be realistic, but I am open to finding higher quality boots and purchasing the fronts, then waiting a little to get the rear pair (the rear pair I have right now are holding up better than the fronts). I've been looking at the ThinLine open front boots, EquiFit boots (only at ebay, I definitely can't pay $175 for them), Eskadrons, and potentially at the Equilibrium Tri-Zone boots. I've been to the Beval store, but it was a long time ago and I didn't look at the boots. The pair I've found is the Beval LTD Open Front and Ankle Boots, with interchangeable neoprene and sheepskin linings. I like the idea of interchangeable linings, as cleaning could be an issue with attached sheepskin and leather. I'm not familiar with the quality, and I would really appreciate any input! I just got received fake uggs! what do I do? Why is eating meat such a problem to everyone? A lot of people have a real problem with people eating meat and say that animals are treated badly and should not be slaughtered. However why is killing animals for meat such a problem but yet killing animals for other goods such as leather and sheepskin not. Also a lot of people ay that one of the reasons they do not eat meat is because the animals are mistreated and live in bad conditions, yet animals such as chickens who are bred for eggs are not seen as a problem even though they live in worse conditions. I know there are organic products on the market but still animal products are used in everything, and yet people still think eating meat is wrong yet they wear make up which is made from animal products wear leather shoes, silk clothes (which i know is not necessarily an animal but it is still a living creature which is killing in order to spin silk yarn.) and dye their hair, dye which is made of animal products. Alabama forces vegetarian students to take a Hunter Safety class? My daughter is a vegetarian. She eats eggs and drinks milk, but does not wear leather or sheepskin or other animal clothing. She does not believe that it is right for humans to kill animals for pleasure, food, or clothing. So - she is in 8th grade at a school in Alabama and as part of the curriculum, she is being required to take a class called "Ag Science / Hunter Safety". Today they watched a movie that showed hunters killing deer. The principal says this class is requried of all 8th graders, they have no other class for her to take, and she can participate or fail. Veganize Me!? I am a total animal lover. I really want to vegaterain, but this isn't possible at my house (look at my other questions). When ever we go out to eat, I order a vegetarian dish. I never buy or wear leather,fur, sheepskin or whool. I use products from the Body Shop (they don't test on animals). I never go to (don't support) circuses, marine parks or rodeos. Whenever possible, I inform people about cruelty. Until I move out (which will be a while) I am forced to eat meat and other animal products. When I actually move out I am going to become a vegatarian, probably a vegan, but until then, what else can I do? Sorry, spelled wool wrong. Thanks for the advice but what else can I do?

Am I a Hypocrite or just a mild lover? well i have developed much more respect for animals over the years and i dislike animal cruelty things like skinning animals alive and torturing them but i like leather and sheepskin (these are some of the things i got at home) i feel like ive been influenced into liking these stuff and im just wondering am i a hypocrite and how can i put a stop to this stop wearing these things, become a vegetarian or should i not worry about them maybe years on later i will change but im stuck wondering what to do i sign petitions i sent in some money to the rspca by text, you know when they advertise it... i really do like animals but i don't think im a true lover maybe im just a mild lover trying to help at time to time... please tell the truth to me about how you feel, im 14years old and i am so confused! if it helps i wouldn't wear fur, probably doesn't help L W78: i don't get what your trying to say anyway if this helps i don't like dog fights Mad Luv: i thought like that as well but i just don't know if im being a good person Oh I don't have any fur stuff my sister had a fox tail though and what I was trying to say is that I don't think I would wear fur in the future

Good competition fetlock boots? Hi I need to get some tendon boots for showjumping for my 16hh thoroughbred. He's quite fine so he needs a decent boots to give him support. I'd prefer leather ones, with sheepskin lining. If you've used good boots yourself, please tell me about them, even if they're not leather. Also, I need ones that are available in the UK or Ireland. How much is this worth? I have a Leather, Mexican, Handcrafted Saddle Bag (not for a saddle, saddle shaped top), Lined with Suede and sheepskin and engraved on the outside. It was bought in Las Vegas in 1982. Does anyone have any idea how much this is worth? or no of anywhere online i could get it valued? Thanks. Best boots?[besides uggs]? I know it's still summer but I'm already thinking about what to buy when winter comes!!!...I don't want to buy uggs,since everybody has them, but i want something much like uggs, not from leather but from sheepskin or something. Any good ideas? [sorry for my english]

help with uggs please? well i got them a while ago and they said i should buy water repllant spray for them.. so i did but the spray directions are to spray while dry, but on the paper you get with the uggs it said to wet them down then use their spray stuff and let it dry, which instructions do you think i should follow, btw i know the spray is safe for my type of leather boots.. or sheepskin which ever i know i can use the spray on them

Help with Equitation Boot Brand/Price? Ok, i recently purchased front Equitation boots at a consignment tack shop. The buttons say Pariani, and have this horse head logo in the middle. The sheepskin is removable, and the buttons/leather seems really nice. (nicer than the Amergio's i compared them to). I paid $80 for them. Was that a good deal, or was i ripped off? And also, can someone tell me retail price for them, and a bit about the brand? They are open front. and they are brand new. Literally. The leather has never been used, you can tell. O and its not a horse head in the center, its a P with a saddle. I was looking at them again and noticed that.,

Am I a hypocrite? A few months back I bought a coat that was described as "faux fur" on ebay. As soon as I unwrapped it I was suspicious. I contacted the seller who honestly thought it wasn't real but I couldn't work out whether it was a good fake or the real thing, so it's hung in my wardrobe ever since. I am anti fur and didn't feel I could give it away/sell it without being sure. I've just found out it is a type of sheepskin and I'm still not sure what to do - I feel weird about giving it away, keeping it or selling it. I have owned sheepskin/suede coats in the past, wear leather shoes and eat meat. Half my head thinks "I eat meat and it would be wrong not to make the best use of an animal that has provided me with nourishment" but other half thinks "just because it is sheep rather than fox or mink doesn't excuse me owning this coat." Am I a hypocrite? I know I'm not only person this has happened to, there's alot of suspiciously real looking fakes about. No hysterical ranting please Hey Fiona, have you looked at ebay recently, it's full of real fur and if you send any emails to members objecting to what they are selling you get suspended!! you name it, it's on there - I just typed in "fox fur" and got nearly 100 results!
