Wearing fur and leather....?

is it so wrong? i mean some people use leather and stuff like sheepskin and uggs because they last way longer and are more durable and have better quality and can last for years unlike the substitue material that is cheap, doesnt last very long, and gets ruined easily. is it wrong to wear uggs and leather? some people just wear it for random fashion, but some people wear it for good reasons and because of its quality, unlike the substitute materials that dont last long. isnt it sort of like buying a jansport backpack that lasts longer and is touger unlike randon synthetic backpacks that fall apart.... please give opinions....in a calm manner! geez some questions i see have vicious people who go all ape sh!t and crazy....some people like to have their own opinions without a person who thinks different going all crazy................ :D

  1. Momma always said "you get what you pay for". I wear leather, but not fur. It's just my choice.

I think that wearing fur and leather is ok, as long as the animal is one that is already being used in production (ie sheep, cows, rabbits) and using the fur and hide is a way of increasing the value of a product....However I dont think it is necessary to go out and hunt wild animals (tigers, bears, leopards etc) for the purpose of fashion, its just not necessary.
  3. Well wrong is an opinion. I think that if the rest of the animal is used for food then it's not a bad thing to not waste the rest of the animal. if your just using the skin thats a big waste of food. either way your killing the animal though. animals kill eachother for food and possibly you. although most animals are not big on us because we don't taste great. so I'm not opposed to hunting or eating meat either.
  4. I see nothing wrong with wearing leather or fur. You're right, they make better quality items than the synthetic kind. Also, synthetic things like fake leathers or furs are made of harsh plastics that never degrade, and in order to make those things, it required a lot of oil, releasing immense amounts of pollution into the atmosphere. Honestly, if you're against leather or fur, that's fine, but I hate when girls give me attitude because I'd rather wear a pair of leather boots, yet they are wearing a leather belt, eating a burger, or have lots of makeup on which was also tested on animals. I hate hypocrites.
  5. i don't wear leather or fur because i think that it's cruel that an animal must make the ultimate sacrifice just to keep someone warm or to provide them with clothing that might last longer. but everyone has a different opinion
  6. bre it never gets cold down here so i don't see the point...i guess its ok to have like..1 leather thing or 1 fur thing..the leather substitutes r really cheap and wear out. so i guess some leather is ok. fake fur (faux) is awesome!! its DOES NOT wear out quickly and you can't even tell the difference! so basically in my opinion, fur-NO USE FAUX leather- in some cases i guess ok....not too much tho. and just not those cheesssssyyyyy leather biker jackets! i mean seriously why don't you write WANNABEE on your forhead!!
