Whats the best brand of leather protectant for a new leather jacket, is it just better at a dry cleaner & why?
I just bought my leather jacket, rather expensive, so I want this one to keep looking good and make it last a long time. (unlike the last one) What's the best brand of leather protectant and where should I get it? Is it better to find a dry cleaner to do the initial work to protect the leather? WHY?

- Use a water based leather protector (unless it is nubuck or suede) this will help protect the finish on the leather from dirt and oils. Keep it clean with a regular maintenance cleaner and it should last a long time. Do not use anything containing oils and waxes or silicones. You can protect the jacket your self. Products should only be spray products so are easy to apply no need for dry cleaners to do it. If you have nubuck or suede jacket use something like waterstop to protect it.
