what are the differences in leather grades: cowhide, sheepskin, lambskin..?

By grades, I mean which is more durable in terms of thickness for apparel? I also hear of split leather and curst leather.

1. I believe it is mostly a differense in softnes and suppleness. Cowhide is the roughest thickest and most durable, I think. Lambskin is most supple and soft. not real sure about sheepskin but it must fall somewhere between the ow and lamb. Hope I helped.
